Dulce Tapp

I was born in Mexico City and moved to Canada in 1991.
I got a degree in Architecture from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and practice professionally for 8 years.

In 2009 I became a full time artist, I reside and work from my studio in Ottawa.
Over the years I have participated in different contest and submit my work to different magazines in Canada and the United States.

I have exhibited my work in different galleries:
St Elmo’s Fire, St. Brigid’s and also at Orange and Towne Square where you can go and see my present artwork.

My work comes from my interest in urban living and design.
Determination is a strong word, creation, sometimes a complicated task but with design, technology, persistent and innovation I can execute any project.

It is always exiting to start with a blank canvas and experimenting with paper and bright colours to get the perfect background, which is leading until you get to the next step.
Sometimes a reflexion, a decision, a 3D object, a collage, texture, imagination and creation will give the viewer the best of me.

The freedom that I feel when I am creating a piece of art is the best gift I can give.
